I have recently come to an important realization that has alleviated a lot of tension in my relationships and work: everything in life is temporary.
From relationships to projectsβevery beginning will inevitably have an end.
This realization might seem somber at first glance, but there is a liberating power hidden within it.
Labeling a relationship as temporary at the start might seem daunting, but my partner and I found that this knowledge freed us from a lot of pressure.
Understanding that everything is transient allows us to better appreciate the value of the moment and live life to the fullest, worrying less about the future.
This principle can also be applied in the workplace.
In organizations, suffering often arises because we assume that situations, projects, or even relationships are permanent. This can lead to disappointments and stress when changes inevitably occur.
However, if we approach work with the knowledge that every project and relationship is inherently temporary, we can better focus on what’s important and remain flexible in the face of change.
I encourage you to consider how realizing the temporariness of life could change your attitude and behavior.
How could it reduce the stress in your life and work? How could you live your days more richly, knowing that everything is ultimately fleeting?
