“Money = death threat!”

We reached this depth with one client who has a great business idea, a specific business plan, a very specific service with great potential and a lot of additional sales opportunities – a real business case. Perhaps sitting across from me was a real entrepreneur with ideas, plans and ambitions.

But it turned out that almost every time a client started to do something big, they would get frustrated, there would be obstacles, distractions, accidents with themselves or loved ones.

The client came to us with a desire to build a business in such a way that everything they wanted could be achieved and obstacles overcome. Classically, of course, one could start looking for solutions and the actions needed. But as my readers here are probably already aware, I don’t do things classically.

Over the course of an hour-long conversation, stories began to emerge about the client’s male line – a series of unexpected deaths and serious accidents.

Until, at one point, a pattern emerged: everyone with money had been miserably and tragically killed. Money = death.

In fact, for many Estonians, this is the trauma associated with the deportations – those who were successful, visible and courageous in terms of wealth were deported and their assets nationalised. In the case of this client, the story was slightly different, but the conclusion was the same as for many Estonians: money is dangerous; being visible is dangerous. Dangerous even to life.

And, of course, you can’t be very successful in business or in your other goals on the basis of such a belief. And just reading it here in theory is not enough. You need to experience your own story in a held space.

This recent customer story has been followed up by the realisation of these links, new choices, the abandonment of unnecessary loyalties and, I believe, major business moves in the near future.

This is just one example of a story in which the original intention leads to very deep and touching realisations and jolts. It’s about how our will to do business and do well financially is actually subconsciously linked to the belief that money is life-threatening and how seeing it is the first step to getting started.

Of course, you need to have the courage to dive into a limiting subconscious belief and dare to set aside for a moment the classic management beliefs.

This didn’t require years of therapy, but an hour’s conversation was enough, where my task was to notice the client’s body language, their use of words, their reactions to my words, to reflect on them, to trust my inner feelings and experience by going deeper, to notice patterns.

To ensure that such insights don’t just benefit 1-1 clients, there will soon be one such workshop where you can boldly come out with exactly what is driving you unconsciously. On my profile you will find a link to the event on 15 October and the full series of events.

LinkedIn does not like promotional posts and that’s why I’m not linking to it directly here ๐Ÿ™‚ The interested party takes the necessary steps on their own – that’s more than half the solution – to show up.
