{"id":6563,"date":"2024-09-06T07:53:54","date_gmt":"2024-09-06T05:53:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ivarraav.com\/uncategorized\/you-cant-control-others-until-you-can-control-yourself\/"},"modified":"2024-09-09T07:54:59","modified_gmt":"2024-09-09T05:54:59","slug":"you-cant-control-others-until-you-can-control-yourself","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ivarraav.com\/en\/governance\/you-cant-control-others-until-you-can-control-yourself\/","title":{"rendered":"You can&#8217;t control others until you can control yourself."},"content":{"rendered":"\t\t<div data-elementor-type=\"wp-post\" data-elementor-id=\"6563\" class=\"elementor elementor-6563 elementor-6556\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a983b14 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"a983b14\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-88862b4 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"88862b4\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>I see very often in my training that people come to learn ways and techniques to better manage others.<br \/>\nHow to get them more committed to better results, how to improve performance in a team, how to drive a project or process towards a goal.   <\/p>\n<p>Of course, this is all true and we talk about these issues in the training sessions.<br \/>\nAnd we need to discuss them.<br \/>\nBut the most important issue on every leader&#8217;s desk should be the question of whether and how I lead myself.<br \/>\nThis is not just about time management or developing skills, learning new management techniques, etc.   <\/p>\n<p>These are very deep unconscious parts of us taken over by the management of parts within us &#8211; our deep fears; experiences from a time when we couldn&#8217;t talk and can&#8217;t access them by talking; my deep beliefs; the emotions that hold life back and whose unexpressed consequences we see in the form of different symptoms in the body; automatic reactions in stressful situations (e.g. traffic).<br \/>\nAnd so much more.   <\/p>\n<p>In order to lead others, you have to be constantly engaged in making the invisible visible within yourself.<br \/>\nFor we can only manage what is visible.<br \/>\nThat which has a visible root cause.<br \/>\nAnd this is not a one-off.<br \/>\nIt is an ongoing and lifelong journey.      <\/p>\n<p>As a leader, it is an extra responsibility to actually do this &#8211; because the impact of a leader on people is clearly underestimated, while the impact on results is clearly overestimated.<\/p>\n<p>It is for this reason that, in ancient times, leaders were those who were truly mature as human beings.<br \/>\nThey were the ones you went to for advice and inspiration on how to be even more Human.<br \/>\nThey themselves were not interested in leading others, but people followed them.<br \/>\nA very important point for today in my view.   <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-fc43a87 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"fc43a87\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5136f3c elementor-widget elementor-widget-image\" data-id=\"5136f3c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"image.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/ivarraav.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/1725520204020-768x768.jpeg\" class=\"attachment-medium_large size-medium_large wp-image-6559\" alt=\"Juhi m\u00f5ju inimesele on s\u00fcgavalt alahinnatud.
